Filthy Friends — the supergroup featuring Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker, R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, King Crimson's Bill Rieflin, the Minus 5's Scott McCaughey and the Fastbacks' Kurt Bloch — have announced their sophomore album. Titled Emerald Valley, the full-length arrives on May 3 via Kill Rock Stars.

For a taste of the new album, the group have shared the new teaser track "Last Chance County."

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Tucker said the following of the song:

It's about a teenage girl riding the bus through a depressed Northwest town in the 1980s, a version of myself and the frustration I saw there… Riding the bus to work, I saw people struggling to make ends meet and make sense of their lives. It's disheartening that 30 years later, the struggle for working people might be even greater.

Filthy Friends' new album follows the group's 2017 debut Invitation. In support of the upcoming record, the band will be heading out on a North American tour, which includes a lone Canadian stop in Vancouver on May 10. You can see the schedule below.
