Following some funding-related uncertainty, we were happy to announce that Calgary's Sled Island festival would be forging along for a fifth edition in 2011. Taking place on the weekend of June 22 to June 25, festival organizers have now revealed six of the fest's headliners.
For the 2011 edition of Sled Island, UK punk phenoms the Buzzcocks will headline, along with the Dandy Warhols, Of Montreal, Blonde Redhead, Sleep, the Greenhornes and local diaper master Chad VanGaalen. The 2011 festival is being curated by Ian Svenious, Grant Lawrence and Bogus Tokus.
Organizers have promised to announce 100 more acts on April 1, with tickets going on sale on Saturday (March 19) right here.
