It's a major milestone for Calgary's multi-faceted Sled Island festival, which turns 10 this year. We've already seen its first two lineup announcements, and now the fest's organizers have revealed the film program for 2016.
There are five films set to play the fest this year. These include the Dap-tone documentary Miss Sharon Jones!, the Berlin set Desire Will Set You Free (which features guest curator Peaches), psych band Fenster's feature film EMOCEAN, the journalist documentary Here Come the Videofreex and the Deep South blues doc I Am the Blues.
In addition to those films, the fest will also spotlight the work of musician and filmmaker Vice Cooler. The artist was already announced as a performer at the fest (as per the request of Peaches), and he'll also host an artist talk and Q&A at Theatre Junction Grand.
Sled Island takes place from June 22 to 26. Passes for the festival are available now here.
