Sleep Reissue "The Clarity" 12-inch

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jan 6, 2017

Stoner metal icons Sleep last released their first piece of new music since 1998's Dopesmoker back in 2014 with "The Clarity." Now, the group are set to treat the song's 12-inch vinyl edition to a reissue.

"The Clarity" originally arrived through the 2014 edition of Adult Swim's Singles Program. Afterwards, the band released a limited-edition run of the song in three different vinyl variants, which were only available at shows or through their online store.

The 2017 reissue arrives through Southern Lord and was recut by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering. The new pressing will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl, with an etching on the B-side from David V. D'Andrea. Housed in a picture disc-style sleeve silkscreened with the band logo, black, clear and transparent orange variants are available.

"The Clarity" comes back to vinyl on February 10 and can be pre-ordered alone or in merch bundles here. Revisit the track and watch our interview with Sleep's Matt Pike in the players below.
