Sleigh Bells Preview Single from Rumoured New Album

Noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells have been talking about their next album ever since they released last year's Reign of Terror, and now it looks as if their third LP may be on the horizon. They have a new single coming out next week, and signs point to this being followed by a full-length.

An Amazon listing reveals that the band will release a new song called "Bitter Rivals" on September 3 via Mom + Pop Music. That's the cover artwork up above.

A 30-second preview is available to stream here; it's characteristically brash and loud, and emphasizes the band's hip-hop influences while toning down the rock guitars.

Adding fuel to the fire, CD Universe lists October 8 as the release date for an album, apparently also called Bitter Rivals.

This seemingly confirms a recent report by Revolt that Sleigh Bells would be debuting a new song on September 3 at www.bitterrivals.us. According to the publication's anonymous source, the (currently empty) site will launch with album details, tour dates and a music video.

We'll have to see how this all plays out. In any case, it looks most likely that everything will be revealed next week.
