The Slocan Ramblers

"Groundhog" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 16, 2015

Toronto bluegrass aficionados the Slocan Ramblers release their sophomore full-length Coffee Creek today (July 16) and to mark the occasion, Exclaim! is giving you the first look at the band's new video for "Groundhog."

Though they may be based in Toronto, the group takes their name from the Slocan Valley of British Columbia — and their sound definitely channels the picturesque, mountainous natural landscape more so than any urban centre.

You can hear it for yourself on "Groundhog," which gets matched with some studio performance footage in the new video. It showcases the band doing what they do best — delivering plucky, high-energy bluegrass music. If you like what you see, you can catch the band in a more raucous live environment on their upcoming Canadian tour dates.
