Saskatoon indie rock outfit Slow Down Molasses recently revealed plans to release a new album called Burnt Black Cars. Giving us a chance to try before we buy, the album can be streamed in full now on Exclaim!

The nine-song record was recorded at Saskatoon studio the Avenue Recording Company. It was mixed by Jace Lasek and mastered by Noah Mintz.

Burnt Black Cars was partially inspired by frontman Tyson McShane's father, who took some photos of the Paris riots in 1968. "The songs on Burnt Black Cars take inspiration from the events of May '68, and from my dad's stories about it," he said in a statement, "but they're more about the way conflict and societal struggle are an omnipresent backdrop to modern life, and about the normal, human moments that still manage to shine through."

Take Burnt Black Cars out for a test drive below. The album arrives tomorrow (May 12) through Culvert Music.
