Slowride

As I Survive the Suicide Bomber

BY Stuart GreenPublished Apr 1, 2002

Following in the great tradition of hard-rocking melodic punk trios like Jawbreaker and pre-Warner Goo Goo Dolls, Husker Dü and Green Day, comes Dallas’s Slowride. Their debut album contains all the essential elements required of a great power-pop trio: punchy, high energy, intensely hook-filled melodies and incisive, lovelorn lyrics and complementary vocal harmonies. The songs alone would be enough to recommend this disc, but as captured by producer Ed Rose (Casket Lottery, Appleseed Cast), the disc's energy and vitality is catapulted to a whole other level.
