While our Canadian Thanksgiving celebration means there will likely be a lot going on this Monday (October 12), you'll probably want to duck out of your family dinner table during the prime-time TV slot, because NYC legends Sonic Youth will be making a live appearance on rich-kid drama Gossip Girl.
How they fit into the plot, and what sort of devious scheming Chuck Bass will be up to, is unknown at this point, but we do know that the band will be performing an acoustic version of "Star Power" from their EVOL album.
In keeping with these hectic Web 2.0 times, the acoustic track will be available as a single on October 13. The track will be available on the Sonic Youth site and on iTunes. If you buy it from the band's site, you'll also have the option of snatching a hand-printed, hand-numbered "Star Power" poster (that it up there above), a "Star Power" T-shirt, or all three. The iTunes version of the single will come with the song "Antenna" as a B-side.
