Vancouver artist Michael Red has built a reliable career under his own name, but the sound sculptor is ready for a new moniker. He's recently started performing experimental ambient music under the name Souns, and ahead of his first cassette he's shared a premiere of the song "Eve."
The near seven-minute composition doesn't reveal a whole lot of structure, but it still actively engages the listener with a long, warm synth warble and some cut-up samples. It's an engrossing deconstruction of composition that reveals a great deal of layers if you listen closely enough.
