Sparks have released a new single, "Nothing Is as Good as They Say It Is," from their upcoming 26th studio album, The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte, out May 26 via Island Records.
The protagonist of the catchy post-punk track's accompanying music video is a 22-hour-old baby imploring to be returned to his mother's womb. "Nothing Is as Good as They Say It Is" is the third single they've released from the upcoming album, following "Veronica Lake" and the title track.
After over 50 years making music together as Sparks, brothers Ron and Russell Mael say The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte is "as bold and uncompromising as anything we did back then or, for that matter, anytime throughout our career."
Sparks will celebrate the album's release with an extensive world tour beginning May 23, with a stop in Toronto on July 3.
