Spiritualized Detail 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light,' Share New Single and Album Art

Last month, Spiritualized main man Jason Piece admitted that, even though he had already confirmed a release date and sent out review copies of his latest LP, Sweet Heart Sweet Light, he had delayed the release while he continued to work on the mixes. Now, it looks as if Pierce is finally done.

Sweet Heart Sweet Light will now come out on April 17 through Fat Possum. The tracklist is the same as the one already announced but, of course, the mixes are a little different than we originally thought they would be.

The making of the album was reportedly an arduous process -- and not just because of the false alarms and continued mixing -- as Pierce suffered from a degenerative liver disease that required six months of chemotherapy, and he was mostly housebound during the lengthy mixing process. A press release notes, "In a classic case of triumph over tribulation, the resulting album is Spiritualized at their most vibrant; full voiced and utterly sublime."

For a taste of what he's cooked up, listen to the cinematic, nine-minute album opener "Hey Jane" below. In the UK, the track will come out on seven-inch vinyl on April 9 and you can pre-order a copy here.

See the head-scratching album cover above. That's assuming, of course, that this is the real cover and Jason doesn't keep working on it now that he's sent it out.
