Despite ruining a nice surprise, Spoon is reportedly releasing a brand new EP this Tuesday (June 30). According to MBV, Merge was trying to keep this one on the down low, but since several sites have now let the cat out of the bag, we're just going to follow suit.
So here's what's up. The release contains three new songs - "Got Nuffin'," "Tweakers" and "Stroke Their Brains" - and will be pressed up on CD and vinyl, as well as be out digitally. It also apparently has the above cover, or at least that's what's being reported out there on the ol' interweb.
According to Stereogum, there was an Amazon page set up where you could preview the tracks, but that link is now dead. However, Amazon does have a listing for a new Spoon EP coming out June 30.
