This year synth punk grandfather and one-half of Suicide, Alan Vega, will be turning 60, and to celebrate, he’s roped in an impressive list of celebrity admirers for the festivities. The party plan? Each month for the next year, artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Liars, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, Grinderman, Peaches and Vincent Gallo will contributing a Vega/Suicide cover to a series of limited edition ten-inches.

Springsteen, a long-time Suicide follower, will appear on the first of the 12 releases, which be out on July 28. The Boss will offer up a rendition of "Dream Blue Baby” on the A-side and, like all the upcoming releases, the ten-inch will feature a Suicide rarity on the B-side, along with a lesser-known up-and-comer taking on another of the band’s tracks. Each release will be limited edition and will also be released digitally.

Additionally, if you’re itching for some more Suicide action, the band also recently released the six-disc box set Live 1977-79, which according to the UK label handling the set and the EPs, Blast First Petite, hit shops June 16. The release is limited to a run of 3,000 and includes 13 complete Suicide sets in New York City, as well as from their first European tour supporting the Clash and Elvis Costello.
