Stereolab haven't released a proper new album in going on two decades, but they remain busy with frequent compilations, reissues and tours — and this will include an extensive outing this year.
Following some European dates in the spring, Stereolab will tour North America in the fall. They'll be hitting Montreal on October 4, followed by Toronto on October 6 and Vancouver on October 17. They will then round out the year in the UK.
Tickets for the North American dates go on sale tomorrow (February 28) at 10 a.m. local time.
Additionally, Stereolab will be reissuing seven of their albums: Transient Random Noise-Burts with Announcements, Mars Audiac Quintet, Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Dots and Loops, Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night Sound-Dust and Margerine Eclipse.
According to a press release, "With immediate effect, all triple disk editions containing demos will be phased out and deleted. Starting tomorrow, the band will begin reissuing some of their most cherished bodies of work including a double-disk edition with reconfigured artwork as well as double-disk editions using the 2019 Calyx remasters. To mitigate any financial barriers that could limit fans from enjoying this special double disk reissuing, the band is maintaining a low price point to help fans and shops currently experiencing economic hardships."
