When he's not shit-talking dance music or delivering live-off-the-floor recordings of your favourite grunge, post-rock and post-hardcore bands, Steve Albini is one hell of a poker player. He proved his skills once more over the weekend, winning an enormous cash prize in the World Series of Poker.
After competing in the Seven Card Stud event over the weekend, Albini emerged victorious, winning a gold bracelet and a cash prize of $105,629 USD. Just think of how many fluffy coffees he can buy with that money!
On the World Series of Poker website, Albini said, "I am ecstatic that a player as mediocre as me can outlast all of these better players and end up with a bracelet. There's still hope for everybody!"
