Don't Face a Problem... Burn It

BY Stuart GreenPublished Jan 1, 2006

Taking their cues in equal doses from Rush, the Dillinger Escape Plan and the Jesus Lizard, this five-year-old Chicago outfit takes angular rhythms, scorching metal fury and dissonant guitar squeals to new heights. Their debut full-length is part hardcore, part math rock and part indie rock. Searing guitar noodling, chunky bass bits and shards of shattered drumbeats serve as a perfect backdrop for Brian Henry's strained but not screeching vocal style. Expect even greater things in the future.
