Stones Throw Re-Reissues J Dilla Box Set

It must be box set season or something because in the same vein as their recent Madvillain box, progressive hip-hop imprint Stones Throw has announced a reissue of the reissue of J Dilla’s deluxe Ruff Draft box.

Originally released last year, the limited box comes with Ruff Draft on cassette, as Dilla originally intended, the "Turn It Up!" T-shirt design in an exclusive colourway, a "Reckless Driving Ticket” ("We ran a bunch of L.A. parking ticket lookalikes and ticketed people outside Ruff Draft listening parties in Spring 2007,” explains the label. "There was a few left over, all included in these boxes.”), and a photo of Dilla taken for 2003’s Jaylib album. The release comes packaged in a printed cardboard box with a cassette holder.

Ruff Draft itself is an EP from 2003, originally released in a limited vinyl run while Dilla dealt with major label woes. Stones Throw first reissued the release last year but demand has inspired them to reissue it yet again. The box can be purchased here. Ruff Draft tracklisting:
