The Stooges

Iggy Pop and his long lost band-mates were an obvious closing headliner for the fest — the legendary Stooges were punk before it had a name and Iggy has always espoused an indie aesthetic. Iggy may look like a walking skeleton, but he still moves like a teenager — even crowd surfing during "I Wanna Be Your Dog” while the band played their classics with a skill that was no doubt lacking when they were first performed. No, the newly recorded tracks weren’t particularly good, but Iggy’s manic energy made them a well-deserved indulgence, and by the time the crowd had rushed the stage and turned it into a full-on mosh pit, this reunion was one for the record books.
