Today is officially release day for the Sheepdogs, who have now fully unloaded their new EP No Simple Thing. So if you've been wanting to know what's next from the Saskatoon rock group, the time is now.

Following the release of "Keep on Loving You," No Simple Thing can now be streamed in full down below. The EP contains six new tracks from the Sheepdogs, and it was recorded in Montreal at Mixart Studios in late summer 2020, with the Sheepdogs laying down all the tracks live. The EP was produced by frontman Ewan Currie.

Of recording the new music, Currie said the following:

This is the longest we've gone without writing, performing and recording together since we started the band 17 years ago. We've never really taken a break or long pauses so it was very foreign to us and was amazing when we could finally get together and make something together. It was really important to us that we did it in a studio that allowed us to all play together and really have that energy in the room, similar to when we play live. That's why Mixart was such a great studio, and I think our excitement and energy really shows through on these songs.

To celebrate the release of No Simple Thing, the Sheepdogs are joining fans today for a live Zoom event. It promises a live Q&A with the band — and "an attempt to break the world record for most beers shotgunned at once along with a few special surprises." The event starts at 8 p.m. ET tonight, and tickets are available here for free.

No Simple Thing is out now via Warner Music Canada. It marks the first material we've got from the group since 2018, when they released their album Changing Colours.
