The Streets' Mike Skinner originally hinted that his next album, which will reportedly be his last, was going to drop in February 2010. That never happened, and now it looks as if the release has been pushed back a full year to February 2011.
This news isn't yet confirmed, but Gigwise points out that a clock on the Streets' official website is currently counting down to February 7. It uncertain whether that this will be the street date of the album, however, since February 7 is a Sunday (albums typically drop on Monday in the UK and on Tuesday in North America).
Skinner recently unveiled a cryptic video showing clips of studio gear accompanied by beats and keyboard doodles. See that video at the bottom of this page.
Way back in February 2009 he wrote a blog saying, "It is a ravey album album that bludgeons you over the head with its stick of 1988 Romford, Blackpool and Philadelphia rock. It is an insane album." Of course, it's now almost two years later, so who knows if those descriptions are still accurate.
Skinner will be heading out in the road in late February. All of the dates are in the UK and you can see the schedule below.
