The Strumbellas Announce Debut LP 'My Father and the Hunter'

According to Wikipedia, the community of Lindsay, ON's population is a shade below 20,000. And although the town undoubtedly has a much smaller music scene than big Canadian cities, it still has enough like-minded players to make up the seven-piece ensemble the Strumbellas, who will self-release their album My Father and the Hunter on February 21.

This debut LP will be distributed by Fontana North. A press release describes the group's rootsy bluegrass sound like this: "This ain't your meemaw's country music. The band brings wheat field harmonies and arena-ready thunder to back rooms and festival stages alike, sounding bigger and louder than anyone with a banjo deserves to sound."

The album was produced by Sum 41 bassist Cone McCaslin. They recorded at Blue Rodeo's the Woodshed Studio over the fall of this year, with additional sessions at Metalworks.
