Yesterday (January 7), Britpop veterans Suede properly announced a long-teased album called Bloodsports with a download of new number "Barriers." A day following the studio leak, the band have released a practice space-based video for the romantic cut.
It's a basic black and white video, featuring plenty of close-ups of the band wringing out the tune's synth swells, anthemic guitars arrangements and the galloping rhythms supplied by both bass and drums. It also zeros in on Brett Anderson's lips as he sings about lipstick traces and the trappings of love into the steely, chainmail tapestry of a Shure 58.
As previously reported, Bloodsports will drop sometime in March, and will be preceded by the first official single, "It Starts and Ends With You," in February.
