Trumpeter and yMusic co-founder CJ Camerieri shared plans for his debut self-titled record under the name CARM last year, and today, the artist has shared a new single from the effort, "Song of Trouble," featuring Sufjan Stevens.
Co-written, sung and arranged by Stevens, the song is the fourth release from Camerieri's forthcoming album. Harmony vocals are by Jake Luppen, with Francis Farewell Starlite on piano.
"Sufjan's use of orchestral instruments helped set the stage for everything I've done in my career," Camerieri said in a press release. "I'm proud of how Sufjan's lyrics powerfully begin the record."
He added: "Sufjan was the first artist I recorded and toured with after graduating from Juilliard and his use of orchestral instruments set the stage for everything I have done since."
CARM will arrive on January 22 via 37d03d. The record also features contributions by Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, Yo La Tengo's Georgia Hubley and Ira Kaplan, My Brightest Diamond's Shara Nova and Mouse on Mars.
