Sufjan Stevens will compose the music for choreographer Justin Peck's next project.
Currently titled "New Peck 1," the production is the first in a three-part series for the New York City Ballet, slated to debut next year. Rounding out the trilogy are Balanchine's "Symphony in Three Movements" set to Stravinsky and Peck's "The Times Are Racing" set to original music by Dan Deacon.
Stevens previously collaborated with the New York City Ballet on The Decalogue last year, as well Everywhere We Go in 2013. Peck previously utilized Stevens' Enjoy Your Rabbit in a 2012 ballet called Year of the Rabbit.
Stevens' other recent projects include last year's Call Me by Your Name soundtrack and a tribute to Tanya Harding, as well as The Greatest Gift Mixtape, featuring remixes and demos from 2015's Carrie & Lowell.
