It's curious that a lot of the tracks featured on Sunny Day Real Estate's live album have more emotional impact and intensity on record. But this concert, recorded last May in Eugene, OR, does showcase the enduring vision of the unconventional band, as tracks from its three studio releases flow more or less seamlessly together. Jeremy Enigk turns in fine performances on difficult songs, "Every Shining Time You Arrive," "In Circles" and "100 Million," which rank as the album's highlights. The music follows after Sunny Day Real Estate's fashion; well-orchestrated quiet movements segue into punchy up-tempo workouts.
