Supers

With Odds on hiatus and the Killjoys MIA, there is a hole in Canadian power-pop waiting to be filled. Along come the Supers, with impeccable playing, rich harmonies, crisp production courtesy of Michael Philip Wojewoda, eye-catching comic book cover art by Kurt Swinghammer, and plenty of power in their pop equation. What’s missing? It all sounds a bit studied and self-conscious, like Matthew Sweet during one of his lesser moments. Once they find their own voice, everything else is already in place and there will be much ass to be kicked.
