Supershine

Supershine is as true a metal super-group as there has ever been. Led by Trouble guitarist Bruce Franklin and King's X bassist Doug Pinnick, the band sounds almost exactly like one would expect - a mixture of King's X's great harmonies and the Sabbath-inspired heaviness Trouble were famous for. To be totally honest, I think I may like this better than the past three or four King's X albums and it has been so long since the final Trouble album. Franklin proves here he had lots of amazing riffs when Trouble fell apart; luckily for us he chose to use them here. With Pinnick's great voice belting out the songs contained within, Supershine is a total surprise that I hope continues for more than just this great debut.
