Syracuse Me

This Charlottetown, PEI-based pop punk band's debut EP begins with a party, spans tons of gang vocals and melodic hardcore breakdowns, and ends with an emotional sing-along. Say what you will about Syracuse Me but no one can say that this band aren't sincere. Their main priority seems to be having fun, as they take notes from Canadian bands like Daggermouth, Living with Lions and even seminal Ontario punk band the Fullblast. The spirit of having fun with your friends remains constant throughout the entire EP, but so does the raw, rough grittiness of their sound. With songs like "Money or Music" and "Rock, Paper, Meloche," it wouldn't be outrageous to say that these guys have some of the same sensibilities as legendary melodic hardcore bands Gorilla Biscuits and Kid Dynamite. Canada has some amazing up-and-coming punk bands, and Syracuse Me are eager, and able, to join the elite.
