Irish electronic label Champion Sound releases the new EP from established bass producer T-Polar, Feetwork. His mutant strain of house is informed by all the right influences: a little two-step shuffle here and some '90s rave synths there, all underpinned by the rolling bass lines and skewed vocal stabs we've come to expect from tracks like these. It's all put together very nicely, but T-Polar isn't breaking any new ground. The remixes come courtesy of Unknown, a mysterious character who's been keeping himself busy lately uploading incredible remixes to YouTube and being all anonymous-like. Unknown's take on the title track is an altogether more exciting prospect than the original and is decidedly colder than the self-proclaimed Mr. Polar. Hazy blasts of noise, ambient breakdowns and persistent distorted beats create a more pleasingly menacing atmosphere that's true to the two-step influences they both evidently hold dear.
