T. Raumschmiere

Berlin-based producer T. Raumschmiere (aka Marco Haas) is the driving force behind one of the most commanding electro sounds around. Using minimal elements in his music while forcing the thick, distorted bass to produce a heavy punk sound, his style is both hypnotically malevolent and unpredictable. Forming his name from the German translation of William Burroughs’ The Dreamcops, his creativity and vivid imagination for something big and simple is abundant. The first single, “Monstertruckdriver,” is a mishmash of fat ‘n’ bouncy beats that moves around at the speed demon’s pace suggested in the title. On the flipside, another version of the song immediately follows, tweaked differently and featuring Miss Kittin. Harder, faster and with the Miss yelling “Faster, the game is not over!” in her signature tone, the song takes on a whole new identity. Raumschmiere also knows when to shift the pace on Radio Blackout to keep things interesting. He tosses in a downbeat “Drown in the Sea While Watching the Stars” in between two head bangers, while using MC Soom T to rhyme over “A Million Brothers (Blah Blah Blah)” for something completely unexpected. Radio Blackout is an exhilarating collision course where punk meets electro head on in full force.
