The season of notable covers continues, as Taking Back Sunday have shared a cover of Weezer's "My Name Is Jonas."
Taking Back Sunday have covered the song a couple of times live, but today sees the official release of the very faithful rendition, complete with their own version of the iconic Blue Album cover art.
Speaking about the cover to Consequence, TBS frontman Adam Lazzara said: "In 2019 we were on tour… a lot! Over time soundcheck got pretty laborious. One day before a show in Cincinnati, somebody started playing the opening chords to 'My Name Is Jonas.' The rest of us jumped in and played the song damn near perfectly on the very first try."
"We started adding the song to our setlist and recorded it on a day off in Buffalo, NY," said bassist Shaun Cooper. "We love this song and we hope our rendition does it justice. We hope you enjoy!"
Weezer themselves are known to do a cover or two, recently covering Fall Out Boy's "Sugar We're Going Down" and Metallica's "Enter Sandman", not to mention their 2019 covers record, the Teal Album.
