Terrorizer

Although currently in a legal battle over allegedly "plagiarizing" a song from Nova Scotia band Collapse, L.A. death/grind pioneers Terrorizer have finally released their much-anticipated new album, Hordes of Zombies. Their first release since the passing of guitarist Jesse Pintado, Hordes of Zombies sees the legendary act back in action with their classic, groove-filled sound, but it also features a different approach. More thrash-influenced guitar work has been added to the mix, done especially well on "Flesh to Dust" and "Broken Mirrors," maintaining the band's grindcore vibe. Intense blast beat drumming is a welcome sound to Terrorizer fans, particularly on "Subterfuge" and "Evolving Era," while deep, growling vocals add even more vicious atmosphere. With the best production quality heard on a Terrorizer record ever, as well as a mix of the band's old school sound, plus some new influences, Hordes of Zombies is a thoroughly brutal, ugly album, but in the best way possible.
