Terry Lee Brown Junior

The headliner at the MUTEK edition of Piknic Electronik was the much-anticipated Terry Lee Brown Junior, a house/techno DJ from Germany. Brown doesn't play very often in North America, so this set was an all too rare treat. The DJ played a seamless selection of mostly deep house that became a touch heavier towards the end but always remained uplifting. The tone of the set was consistent, expertly sequenced and maintained interest side-stepping the customary builds and plateaus. There was only one brief break in the solid set due to some minor technical failure, which the crowd, so enamoured with Brown's skills, used as a window to cheer the DJ on.
