Earlier this year, Bay Area thrash greats Testament delivered their Exclaim!-approved Dark Roots of Earth, an album that brought drummer Gene Hoglan back into the fold. The veteran ensemble have now announced that they'll take their latest batch tunes out on the road early next year on a headlining tour.
The metal act will head out on their "Dark Roots of Thrash Tour" come the end of January. The month-long trek around North America finds the band joined by fellow long-running acts Overkill and Flotsam & Jetsam, a feat that apparently thrills Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick.
"It's a tour that brings together three different metal bands from three different regions: West Coast, East Coast and Southwest," Skolnick said in a statement. "All three bands sound very different from one another yet are highly compatible. All have been around the block (and the world) a few times and all have managed to keep a sound that feels current. This tour will be a 'must see' for fans who remember the early days of thrash/speed metal as well as those whose age is younger than the genre itself."
The tour, which hits Canada once at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre on February 18, also finds Melbourne-based thrash unit 4arm opening up the dates. You can see the show schedule down below.
