As soon as the Black Keys' Patrick Carney tweeted that the band "got fucked" on Monday (June 10) and said he would explain everything to prevent it from happening to others, I knew I would be checking his profile all week just for him not to actually explain anything. But hark! There's been Twitter activity from Carney, and it seems that the feud with ex-managers Irving Azoff and Steve Moir has reached the tweeting-sarcastically phase.
The musician took to the social media platform early this morning to retweet a Bloomberg article of free legal advice for artists that Azoff shared back in 2018 and add some (evidently butt-hurt) commentary.
"Thank you! This advice is very important for all musicians. So great you provided this for us all," Carney wrote. "It's hard to speak up to the industry at times. So great to know you are always looking out for the artist. :)"
If you missed it, the Black Keys recently cancelled their North American arena tour behind new album Ohio Players, promising to announce revised dates for a "similarly exciting, intimate experience." Later, it was reported that the band had split with their management, who had been working with them since 2021.
