Toronto-based alt-pop outfit the Balconies are gearing up to release their self-produced Rhonda LP in October, and before it arrives, the band has served up some visuals for album cut "Money Money."
Directed by Sasha Avramov, the clip features prominently on a masked figure watching over and controlling a group of dancers in cold, calculated fashion.
"'Money Money' explores how far one will go to get ahead," frontwoman Jacquie Neville said in a press release. "Our heroine is innocent and naive, but quickly realizes she's given up a lot more than she thought to be successful, and ends up feeling exposed, vulnerable and cheated."
Guitarist Liam Jaeger continued: "We really wanted the audience to feel how much everyone in the video is being controlled by this masked ring leader. 'Money Money' is about the struggle for success and how much of ourselves we are willing to give up to get there."
Rhonda is set to arrive October 14. Watch the video for "Money Money" in the player below.
