Four years out from their latest full-length record, Montreal psych-rock outfit the Besnard Lakes have announced plans for their sixth studio album. The Bernard Lakes Are the Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings will arrive through the band's new label home, Flemish Eye Records, on January 29.

The double LP finds the band "contemplating the darkness of dying and the light on the other side," through its whopping 72 minutes and nine tracks, one of which can be heard today.

"Raindrops" has been released alongside a new music video from director Joseph Yarmush, and the band have explained the origins of their new single.

"This song and video details a psychedelic flight through the mind while deep in an altered state," they said in a statement. "The song lyrically references the death of Mark Hollis from Talk Talk and also describes the idea of evolution determining the story of the Garden of Eden."

The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings will follow 2016's A Coliseum Complex Museum. In 2017, they released a two-song 12-inch titled The Besnard Lakes Are the Divine Wind.
