The Breeders recently returned with their first new song in nearly a decade, but now the Kim Deal-fronted band have confirmed a new album is heading our way.

Deal was the guest on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast today (November 13), with the former Pixies member saying that the Breeders would be releasing an album in 2018. She added that Steve Albini helped the band work on the record, recording at least two songs.

It's unclear exactly when the as-yet-untitled Breeders album will arrive, but you can listen to the full episode of WTF with Marc Maron over here. The new album reveal comes around the 26:00 mark.

The Breeders released an EP titled Fate to Fatal in 2009, though the band's last full-length record arrived as Mountain Battles in 2008.

The recently shared new track "Wait in the Car" is being released as part of an upcoming series of 7-inch singles via 4AD. You can learn more about that here.
