The track comes as the band's second one-off of 2019

The Dodos have shared a brand new track today called "The Atlantic." It comes as a one-off from the band, their second of the year following March's "The Surface."

The duo's Meric Long had the following statement to offer about the new song:

"The Atlantic" is a song about the limitations of what you can see if you don't surround yourself with people that challenge you. In the first couple years of knowing my partner, the Atlantic ocean was literally between us, and now when we disagree and see things very differently it can feel like that ocean still exists metaphorically.

It's meant as a love letter, but one that honours our differences because seeing through each other's facade was what brought us together.

So far, the band have yet to share plans for a new record. The Dodos' latest record was 2018's Certainty Waves.
