Never ones to be quiet for long, the Flaming Lips have announced they are returning with a new full-length album. It's titled King's Mouth, and it will arrive in April for Record Store Day 2019. What's more, it apparently features narration by the Clash's Mick Jones throughout.
Lips frontman Wayne Coyne made the announcement today via Instagram, revealing Jones is "on almost every song." He added, "It really is quite unbelievable."
As you can see from that post above, it also appears that the band have shared a bit of the album cover, though so far, further details are slim. It should be noted that King's Mouth was also the name of Coyne's art installation from 2015, so the two project may be linked.
Record Store Day 2019 takes place on April 13.
The Flaming Lips' last proper studio album was 2017's Oczy Mlody.
