Even though their past few months of touring have kept them on the road between Ontario, New Brunswick, British Columbia, Manitoba and more, Iqaluit group the Jerry Cans have found time to deliver a new track titled "Clouds."
The song features lyrics in both English and Inuktitut, in addition to throat singing, and was written and co-produced alongside Simon Ward and Darryl James of the Strumbellas in Lindsay, ON. The Jerry Cans' Andrew Morrison explained the history between the two bands in a statement:
The Strumbellas have been so cool to us. When we were first starting out we had no idea where to record outside of Nunavut. We picked up their first record My Father and The Hunter and saw they recorded at this place called the Woodshed. We eventually recorded there which turned out to be our first step to sharing our music outside the north. Since then we have played a few festivals with them, became friends and they have always been willing to help us figure out the southern music world. This song is the result of all that.
