While the tributes to Tom Petty have been coming in steady since his passing yesterday (October 2), the National are now honouring the fallen rock icon with a cover of his "Damaged by Love."
The band's Matt Berninger and Bryce Dessner shared their low-key version of the Petty cover this afternoon. It was originally featured on Petty's 2006 solo album Highway Companion.
Down below you can watch the cover, as well as a clip of Berninger dancing around to some Petty tunes.
As previously reported, Petty died in hospital on Monday after being found unconscious and in full cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu on Sunday.
