The Thermals Announce Vinyl Reissues, Plot New LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 24, 2013

Not only is Sub Pop preparing a reissue for the Postal Service, the esteemed indie label will be delving into the back catalogue of another celebrated act with a series of vinyl reissues for the Thermals. These will arrive on March 5.

Prior to jumping ship to Kill Rock Stars, the Thermals released three albums through Sub Pop: More Parts Per Million (2003), Fuckin A (2004), and The Body, the Blood, the Machine (2006). All of these, plus the "No Culture Icons" 7-inch, will be available on limited edition coloured vinyl. There's no indication that these will include any bonus material.

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of More Parts Per Million. In addition to reissuing their back catalogue, the Thermals plan to release a new album and hit the road. Unfortunately for Canadian fans, the entire current schedule is in the U.S., as you can see in the dates below.

We'll leave you with a statement from the Thermals about the reissues:

Don't call it a comeback! They've been here for years. But in this (hopefully) foul year of our Lord, 2013, the Thermals are indeed returning. With a vengeance. They will soon release their 6th LP, and again set about touring the world with an endless supply of wit and energy. But first, Sub Pop Records (who discovered and "broke" the Thermals way back in 2003) proudly announces the reissuing of The Thermals' first three classic LPs - More Parts Per Million, Fuckin A, and The Body, The Blood, The Machine (as well as the rare "No Culture Icons" 7".) These records have been unavailable on vinyl for some time, and are now back in limited colour editions!
