On their last full-length, Lakeside Cabin, Ottawa punks the Creeps cranked up the Misfits and offered up some dark, catchy, Walk Among Us-inspired punk rock with a snotty Ramones twist. This five-song seven-inch offers up another fine batch of the same, cranking up the Danzig-inspired melodies but keeping the vocals, along with the tone and texture of the music itself, away from Misfits tribute territory. Quite simply, songs like "On and On" are solid punk songs, stringing together a few chords over endearingly lo-fi production and an earnest, first-take-sounding vocal delivery. In the hands of a lesser band, songs this catchy could be saccharine but the early Screeching Weasel-level of production makes it the ideal addition to your guilt-free pop punk play list.
