Thunderheist To Play Gay Porn Awards Afterparty!

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jan 12, 2009

As we previously reported last month, Toronto-based electro party rap crew Thunderheist will release their long-awaited debut LP through the Big Dada label on March 31. Before that, on January 27, the twosome will drop the album's first official single, "Sweet 16," which is now streaming on the band's MySpace page.

Then leading up to the album's release, the duo of Grahm Zilla and Isis will play a handful of shows throughout North America previewing their new material.

Along with the Tomorrow Never Knows festival in Chicago, Toronto's Winter City at Nathan Phillips Square with Shad and Vancouver's Cultural Olympiad with Cadence Weapon, Thunderheist have been invited to showcase their raunchy flavour at a prestigious gig on March 28 in San Francisco: a private afterparty for a certain gay porn awards happening that night. (Note: it is private, which means it is closed to the public.)

Finally, if you just so happen to find yourself checking out the Golden Globe-winning performance by Mickey Rourke in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler, keep your ears peeled for Thunderheist's "Jerk It," which is apparently booming from the speakers of a strip club.

Here is the tracklisting to the Sweet 16 EP and Thunderheist, followed by Thunderheist's confirmed dates:
