Five Stories Falling

BY Stuart GreenPublished Feb 1, 2003

The next time any band considers releasing an EP, they should look at this one as an example of how not to do it. Of the five tracks here, four are live versions of material from their nearly two-year-old Full Collapse disc and one is a new track intended, presumably, to be a teaser for their next disc. But with the live recordings being of questionable quality (in terms of both performance and production) and the new track sounding like a throwaway, there's really no need to pick this up. Don't get me wrong, as far as the new-school emo/melodic punk bands go, Thursday is one of the best, but you'd never know it from this release. It sounds like an attempt to cash-in on recent successes and is strictly for those who feel the need to own everything the band puts out.
