Along with all the archival Sonic Youth recordings that have recently hit the web, Thurston Moore has been rolling out previously unreleased material of his own through Bandcamp, including new arrival "Instant Transcendent Conjecture."
As Moore explained in some accompanying notes, the song was recorded in 2016 during sessions for his 2017 LP Rock n Roll Consciousness. Of course, he's joined on the track by drummer Steve Shelley, My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe and guitarist James Sedwards.
"'Instant Transcendent Conjecture' is a cryptic suggestion into the realization of the poem as a springing into nature," Moore wrote. "Through the haze of chemical assault, the spring springs by any means necessary. Earth prayers are in action. Transcendence through understanding, and through sacrifice :: we are here in community service to a garden named Heaven. To paraphrase the lads from Liverpool, "Get Back to where you once belonged.."
You can hear "Instant Transcendent Conjecture" below.
Last year, Moore delivered album Spirit Counsel with the Thurston Moore Group.
