Thy Art Is Murder endured a tough end to 2015, as vocalist CJ McMahon stepped down after almost six years fronting the deathcore band. Prior to that, the year was undoubtedly one of the Australian band's best. Exclaim! TV Aggressive Tendencies caught up with guitarist Andy Marsh during a high point, prior to McMahon's departure, when the band were on tour with Parkway Drive, Miss May I and In Hearts Wake.
In conversation, Marsh explained the band's choices regarding the controversial cover art and lyrical themes of last year's Holy War and elaborated on the lyrics, which covered subject matter like animal rights, politics and, um, killing pedophiles. He also described the process of making two music videos in 48 hours and writing two songs in two hours.
