Tiger Army

Greasing back a slick black pompadour, guzzling beer and flying down a dirt and gravel road in a '56 T-Bird with Link Wray and Robert Gordon blasting on the radio, these are the ways in which Tiger Army must have recorded their smashing self-titled debut CD. As much as the Amazing Crowns and the Reverend Horton Heat are the current day psychobilly heavyweight contenders, Tiger Army has come out of nowhere, in a blinding flash, to turn the rockabilly world upside down and inside out. With the infamous Ron Peltier of the Quakes on standing fretless bass, Adam Carson of A.F.I. on drums and Nick 13 on vocals and guitars, a recipe for rock 'n' roll perfection has been made. Nick's guitar whines and churns like a lonely desert highway, as his Danzig-esque vocals croon away to the primitive and prominent drum and bass beats. Furthermore, the intense bass slapping, euphoric howling and melody on "True Romance" is superb and completely unbeatable. Rarely can a band release a CD of stellar material from start to finish, but then again, Tiger Army isn't an average band.
